Biosolids Reference Group

The Biosolids Reference Group replaces the Biosolids Investigation Group, as the project has moved from exploration and evaluation of various options for the management of Barwon Water’s biosolids to the design, construction and operation of the biosolids drying facility to be located south of Geelong. The Biosolids Reference Group is an advisory body only, with Barwon Water retaining overall authority in relation to the management of the project.

The Biosolids Reference Group will provide:

a link between Barwon Water and Plenary Environment (Barwon) and the community, enabling Barwon Water and Plenary Environment (Barwon) to remain responsive to the needs and concerns of the community;
advice to Barwon Water and Plenary Environment (Barwon) regarding construction and operational aspects of the biosolids drying facility, including matters such as performance standards, community information procedures and complaints handling;
community feedback on various matters relating to the biosolids drying facility; and
advice on effective community engagement relating to the biosolids drying facility.

The Biosolids Reference Group meets periodically and provides an important link to the local community.
